JUAN MIGUEL SEVERO – On the Wings of Love

OFF THE LIMITS

No one is being forbidden to be happy. It's just that sometimes because of too much happiness we are breaking of the limits. We are getting confused of what is right from what we want. We are being too selfish of not thinking what other people may think about us. However, it's really true anyway that it's not the truth of saying "how people think about you"; what's important is "how people must think about you." Get to know people around you. Stay happy but never let be influenced by peers- by doing wrong things. Always remember that happiness should never let you become off limits, but it should puah you through something better than fine.

“A-FREN”

"Just a school requirement"
I
Sa dami-dami ng tao sa mundong ‘to,
Swerte mo dahil ikaw ang napili ko;
Ngunit saan ba kita unang nakita?
Paano nga ba tayo nagkakilala?

II
Sa paaralan ang pagkakatanda ko,
Sa siksikan at napakaraming tao;
Dito nasumpungan ang unang batian
Naging simula ng mabuting samahan.

III
Tuwing kailangan ko ang iyong tulong,
Di payag na mabagal tulad ng pagong;
Lagi kang handang handa magsakripisyo
Para tulungan ako sa problema ko.

IV
Samahang ‘di matutumbasan ninu man,
Asara’t kulitang ‘di mababayaran;
Kasama sa kalokoha’t kalungkutan
Karamay ko ang tunay na kaibigan.

V
Sakali mang kailangan maghiwalay,
Ikaw pa rin ang kaibigan habang buhay;

Sabi nga ng marami, masarap sa feeling kapag may "element of surprise." Walang oras, walang araw na inaabangan. Walang bagay na inaasahang dadating. Walang taong hinihintay dumating.

CHANGES OVER TIME

Shayne, my dearest friend;
There a lot of change here in our hometown,
The old days is out of our hand,
But the sunlight hour with you
It’s four decades yet retained in my head.

Yesterday, when I’m on my way after school
I couldn’t find anymore the store,
we used to hang out with our high school friends
We buy the street foods along our way home.
The summer we loved so much
Well I guess we can’t do that anymore
Do you still remember?
The huge mango tree in my auntie’s house
That we climb onto, Tatay Luis cut it down
because they had a total renovation in their backyard.

The wooden bridge to Bucal we are afraid to pass by
‘Coz we feel like it will collapse all the time
Well, it’s now just like bridges in other cities,
It is fully reconstructed and well-built.
Now a dashing noise is heard nearby
It’s the new MRT and LRT approaching
There are now a lot of public and private cars
Causing traffics and delay of works
No doubt, people walk above the vehicle
Overpass avoids accidents for them.

The trees of coffee those are abundant before,
They are now become stagnant they lay on store.
People in our place changed the way of living
They altered coffee trees into pineapple plantation
There are a lot of changes through generation,
You won’t believe me when I say,
Fruits we used to eat during became brand names
Through Blackberry and Apple mobile phones we can talk.
What you want to do, you can also watch movie
Our game boy I think is useless now anymore
Really technology, brought changes to society.

Shayne, my dear friend,
How do you find the life there in London?
Every time we have a good time to get along with our friends here,
We still eat our favorite chicken adobo
Cooked and served by the grandma of Nikko.
After all of the tiring but joyful day and driving
them home in my car we always remember you
We miss everything we’ve been through.
Also the moment we were taught by my Papa to drive
Today no more rocky roads all the way,
You can drive now here freely and smoothly.

Before I forgot,
Regards to your sister, Mikey
And to your mother, Tita Chichi and to the rest of the family.
We are looking forward in your homecoming this month of April
It’s my birthday and I know you won’t forget,
I’m VET. I always care !

P.S. Ate Haydn, my eldest sister, just so you know,
She’s now two-month pregnant
Everybody is very excited to see the new member of the family.

FLIGHT OF STEPS TO VICTORY ROAD

                 Education will be one of the most reliable resources of triumph. Credibility in taking step to our career is essential for our good future. We are all experiencing pressure, tension, sleepless nights, embarrassment and tress. These are all part of being a student. However, if we are determined to learn, in just a snap, these hardships will taper off. Learning can takes place as long as interest and concentration of the students are shown. We can close our minds to all sort of distraction- just like the noise along the corridor that disturbs us and the talkative classmates bubbling his head off about his/ never-ending stories.

               As what in the author’s book says, “There’s no such thing as genius without anything behind it. The greatest geniuses are the hardest workers.” We should study well to the stages of student life. As early as now, we must strive for the victory and for our attainable goals. Bring bear an extra effort while studying. Success mostly belongs to those who are wise enough to make the most out of their best, as youth. Keep moving forward. Let us do it. Be developed. Everyone has the ability to do at least one thing well, and sometimes more than one. Develop our ability to the highest degree.

                 Really life is what we make it- the kind of life we will live and the achievement we will get in the future depends on the sufficient quality of education we will be having. Never forget Go- put Him above all and He will push us to the right way of our choice.

A DETECTIVE'S ORDINARY DAY

I’ve gone to a restaurant dating with my girlfriend, Berenice Richards, this morning.  As usual, this day could never pass by without witnessing a crime.  This is just another normal day for someone like me who is working as a detective.
Well, this is how it goes.  A man named Roland Holmes had been killed.  How?  Food poisoning was the cause.  Moreover, he was holding the straw of the juice he was drinking on his right hand.  The analysis of the corpse had been released.  It said that there was no poison on the juice on he was drinking.  Also, his hands were free of poison.
Primarily, another origin could have been used to introduce the poison.
The killer had been caught for about one day.  How?  We gathered alibis from different witnesses.
Here:
-Alethea Crowns – I do not know that man.  I do not even remember if I’ve met him before.  *verified – She is just there because she is supposed to meet her big brother.
-Reynald Holmes – Why would I kill my own brother?  I’m so insane if I do that.  *unverified – We made a body search and found tablets of poison on his pocket.
-Arnvid Crowns – Yes, I am really a butler of their family but I would never kill my own master.  *unverified – We also made a body search and detected poison powder on his hands.
Both Berenice and I deduced the same things.

P. S.
Now it’s up to you to know.  Who could have been the killer?  Where did he put the poison?
For all detectives, I live this mystery to you.
